As you all by now undoubtedly know, yesterday it was announced that Lucasfilm sold the rights of Star Wars to Disney for 4.05 billion and in 2015, Star Wars episode 7 will be released.
As of now, nothing is known about the plot of this 7th movie but many fans are a bit worried, I mean, the prequels were bad enough, why would we want more Star Wars after they ruined the perfection of the originals? I however am feeling conflicted. True, the prequels were terrible and the thought that people actually enjoyed those movies actually makes me cringe (and yell at people in my dorm sometimes) but let’s think about this logically. This is Disney, who just made The Avengers, the most incredible movie to ever exist? The one with the flawless EVERYTHING ABOUT THE MOVIE? Disney did. And who is the one who screwed up the prequels? George Lucas. And who is not involved with this new movie? George Lucas. So, while I obviously can’t guarantee this movie will be great or anywhere near on the scale of the Avengers, Disney is fantastic! And they have enough time and money to get ANY director they could possibly want (I personally am pulling for a Tim Burton Star Wars movie!) so I have hope.
It’s still a while to wait but what do you guys think? Are you excited? Upset? Mortified? Let me know! :)
So, I’m kind of having a bad day today so this post won’t be long (And yes, I know it’s my day to write a letter to my future husband again but since I did that late this week and that was my last post I’ll do that tomorrow). Basically, finals are over, it’s time to go home. I know I’ve hardly written this week I’ve been studying really hard for finals and spending time with my friends before we all leave for the summer and everything. Now there’s only about 4 of us left in the dorm, all of us leaving tomorrow so we’re planning on having a Star Wars marathon tonight and hanging out. It’ll be a good last night together but I’ll sure miss them all!
So, basically that’s all I have to say today, other than I am still alive and now that I’m done posts will go back to usual soon.
I love you all!
May the Fourth be with you all today! Happy Star Wars day! :) Get it? Like May the Force be with you? But instead it’s May the fourth? *Starts laughing hysterically* Haha. Yes. I’m a nerd and I’m proud of it.
Anyways, today was my last day of classes so one week, 4 finals and many floor shenanigans to go and I’m a junior in college. Next Saturday I’ll be leaving my college town for two weeks (One of those to go visit Georgia, the time is almost here!) and the other to just go home before I come back and work at the financial aid office for the summer. I’m pretty excited. This next week shouldn’t be to bad, I’ll certainly be studying a lot this weekend but I’m also planning on spending a lot of time with my friends and causing general shenanigans as well. I promise after I’m done with finals my posts will get longer and better again and hopefully have a point. :) Until then I’ll just try to keep you all updated, maybe put in some end of the year pictures.
I hope you’re all doing well!
I’ve been making a lot of lists recently and this post is no different, this one however is the list of my favorite movies. :) Enjoy!
(500) Days of Summer
Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Cloudy with A Chance of Meatballs
The Princess Bride
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
The Dark Knight
Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy (I have a lot of trilogy movies here don’t I?)
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Beauty and the Beast
I’ll probably add to this list eventually, maybe make it a bit better. What about all of you? What are your favorite movies?
Dear future husband,
As I’m sure you know about me whenever (if you ever) read this. I’m a huge nerd. Whoever you are, you’re just going to have to accept that about me. I will always love Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and Doctor Who and I will not apologize for that. :) I’m hoping you will like them as well (or at least will be willing to learn to like them) seeing as they mean so much to me I’m not sure I could bear being with someone who didn’t at least give them a chance. I’ll love you first and foremost darling but I will always love the fictional characters from those stories, they’ve gotten me through a lot while I’m waiting for you.
Another thing I should say, and again, you’ll find this out very soon after meeting me but I can’t cook. I admit that I could perhaps learn to cook and for you my love, I’d be willing to try but the few times I’ve tried before have not gone well. Just a warning. I can make cookies and mac and cheese, I hope you don’t expect much more than that.
One last thing for the day, and again, you’ll know this if you know me at all but my past has left me scarred. I’ve been hurt and forgotten and unloved. I don’t expect those scars to go away but please, help me get through the hurt. Teach me how to trust in love and believe in it. In my heart I know it’s out there, I know God created this longing I have inside to love and be loved but I don’t see it anywhere and sometimes have trouble believing it’s there. I’m sorry for that but please, prove me wrong. I can’t promise that I’ll never mess up but I promise I’ll always be there for you to love and care for you.
From To My Future Spouse Tumblr:
– I have just discovered that waiting and being patient are not the same things. While I wait for you, I will try to remember that “it does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.” I will try to be happy and content and joyful instead of pine or be envious. I pray that God can help you to be patient too.
– My only New Year’s resolution is to meet you.
– Show me what real, unconditional love looks like.
– I want a Lily and Marshall kind of love.
I’ve never been one of those super girly girls. I mean, I have my moments, I read sappy books on occasion, I “ooh and ah” over cute pictures of couples, things like that happen but I’ve never been one of those that has completely had my wedding planned out since I was 5 or one that loves chick flicks. I’m still not, but recently a lot of people I know have been getting engaged or married and after Facebook stalking all their adorable engagement/wedding pictures, I’ve decided there are some things that I want to have in the future at my wedding (When and if such a thing ever occurs).
1. I want to be wearing Converse Chuck Taylors. I would prefer if my bridesmaids do too but if they don’t want to that’s fine, I definitely will be wearing mine. (The color of them is as of yet undecided)
2. There will be a lightsaber somehow involved. I don’t know how, maybe my husband will carry it as we walk down the aisle together to leave (That just happened at one of the weddings of a friend) or maybe it’ll be used elsewhere. I just want it to be quite prevalent.
3. Something Lord of the Rings related must be there. Perhaps our wedding rings will look like the One Ring? (Ok… that’s probably too nerdy.. I doubt my husband will go for that one.. though since I don’t know who he is yet, maybe he will!) Hmm, I’ll have to think about this one a bit more. Maybe just have the soundtrack playing as we walk down the aisle to leave.
4. I want all the guys in the wedding to wear bow ties. Bow ties are cool. And not just because the Doctor thinks so either, I freaking love bow ties. Always have, always will. But yes, I do want them in there for the Doctor Who reference as well.
5. I want there to be a TARDIS. Maybe not a life size one, maybe stick it on the cake or something but I want it there.
6. Harry Potter is obviously necessary in my wedding, I’m thinking Unbreakable Vow during the ceremony? :)
Ok, short list, all pretty nerdy but I do want these things to happen. Knowing me how could anyone expect anything less? I’m a nerd, I’m proud of it and I think weddings should reflect your personality. I mean, obviously I don’t think too much money should be put into these things, weddings are just one day after all, it’s the marriage people should focus more on but I think it would be really cool to have at least most of these things at my wedding whenever it happens.
Today for once, I actually have a lot on my mind that I would like to talk about. So, bare with me, this is going to be quite random!
After thinking about it, I think I finally realized why unlike so many other people, I am quite sympathetic towards Snape. I feel like it’s mostly because I’ve been in his situation before. Loving someone with everything in me and having them break my heart. I think that’s why I’ve been so intrigued by the story of Snape. Just because I can completely understand how he felt…
Today in church we were reading from 1 Samuel. The message was very good as always and again I was reminded just how much I don’t put Christ first which made me really upset with myself. I’m going to try to do better…
Also related to 1 Samuel, in one of the later chapters, it discusses a place called “Endor” a lot of us were excited because that of course is the planet where the Ewoks live in Star Wars.
I’m pretty sure that I would be content listening to Alan Rickman saying anything, he could read the phone book and I would be amused. His voice is amazing. Plus he has an accent… Ergo, I have been watching a lot of Alan Rickman movies recently….
I love the band Mumford and Sons. I could listen to them all time too. They’re just so wonderful and their songs are brilliant!
Last night, my friend Dalton had a bonfire. Now that might not have been the best idea since it was 104 degrees outside but it was literally one of the best nights of my life. My friend Tyler gave me a ride out there and for the first hour or so, my friends Brett and Rebekah and I had a bit of a dance party together dancing to the music Dalton was playing on his iPod and thoroughly (though unknowingly) amusing those who were watching us. Again, dancing in the heat around a fire was not a brilliant idea and of course we got all gross and sweaty but it was so much fun! After we were thoroughly sweaty, the 3 of us, plus my dear friends Abbey and Allie decided to take some pictures. As you can imagine, they turned out quite nicely. :) After the pictures, we sort of just sat around and talked. Of course some of the guests at the bonfire went a little crazy with the fire and burned all kinds of things but that’s just what happens at Dalton’s house. Also, they put a cardboard tube in which then started smoking immensely and because I have wonderful, brilliant, nerd friends like myself, of course we all decided that there was a Death Eater apparating there. Like I said, one of the best nights I’ve ever had. :)
