Tonight I had Bible study like I do most Wednesday night’s at home but tonight’s was especially good. Today we were reading in 1 Corinthians (and a little bit in 2 Corinthians) and discussing how no matter what someone has done, it’s never too late for them to accept God. The only unforgivable sin there is, is not accepting Jesus. It’s super awesome when you think about it, Jesus, the ONLY person in the ENTIRE history or future of the world to be born without sin took our sin by dying on the Cross just so we could live. That’s how much God loves us! The Devil constantly wants us to think that we’re not good enough and try to convince us that God won’t accept us because of sins we’ve committed but that’s a total lie! God loves us all. When Jesus died for our sins, He died for the sins of the ENTIRE world, even the people who won’t become Christians, which honestly is one of the saddest thing I could think about. I mean, it’s a free gift, waiting for them to accept, and some never do. All our sins are paid for, it’s a gift that God is anxiously waiting to give us all. He doesn’t want anyone to go to Hell but He gave us all free will so we could choose for ourselves (so He wouldn’t be a dictator or anything) We’re loved that much, enough that Jesus was tortured and killed on that Cross for us. We’re so loved! Even though sometimes our earthly friends and family seems like they don’t love us that much, we can all remember that we are all incredibly and unfathomably loved. It’s so amazing to think about. It makes me happy and hopeful inside. :)
When we accept Christ, He automatically forgives our sins and forgets about them. In the Bible it says that our sins are now at the bottom of the ocean when we ask God for forgiveness, never to be remembered again. It doesn’t matter what we’ve done. God says that all sins are the same in His eyes, it doesn’t matter if we’ve just told a little white lie or whether we’ve murdered someone, all sins are the same in God’s eyes. But when we accept Him, He forgives us and makes us completely new people. Of course we’ll still screw up once we’re Christians, I mean, heck, I mess up all the time but God is always going to forgive us! All we have to do is ask.
14 Christ’s love has moved me to such extremes. His love has the first and last word in everything we do.15 He included everyone in his death so that everyone could also be included in his life, a resurrection life, a far better life than people ever lived on their own. Because of this decision we don’t evaluate people by what they have or how they look. We looked at the Messiah that way once and got it all wrong, as you know. We certainly don’t look at him that way anymore. Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it! All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other. God put the world square with himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins. God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing. We’re Christ’s representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God’s work of making things right between them. We’re speaking for Christ himself now: Become friends with God; he’s already a friend with you. ~ 2 Corinthians 5:14-20Advertisements
